The Ordinance Committee will conduct a public hearing to continue discussion on a proposed amendment to the Municipal Code by add a new Chapter 5.50 entitled “Cannabis Business Permitting.”

There will be neighborhood meeting on
Thursday, May 2nd, at 6pm
at 86 Kirkland Street,
in opposition to the proposed drug dealership at that location.

May 3rd update: About 90 neighbors showed up to the meeting despite the rain to express opposition.

Over three hundred petition signatures, online and on paper, were collected in the past few days in opposition to the project.

After the meeting, based on neighborhood feedback, the project developer indicated that he was not going to move ahead with the project.
